Accessing Our Services
Assessment Services
Adults
NZTN currently provides diagnostic assessment services for adults aged 18 years and over. These include standardized psychometric forms specifically designed and validated for adult populations, ensuring accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment recommendations.
Because psychometric tools are standardized for adult use, assessments for minors would require different forms and clinical approaches, which NZTN currently does not provide.
Children and Adolescents
Comprehensive assessment for children and adolescents requires different assessment tools, service structures and levels of family and school involvement than adult assessments. NZTN is not currently configured to offer this type of child and youth service, so we do not provide formal assessments for clients under 18.
If you are looking for support for a child or young person under 18, we recommend contacting a service that specialises in child and adolescent mental health or neurodevelopmental assessment in your region. Your GP can usually provide advice and referral options for local services.
Therapy Services
NZTN offers mental health therapy services to clients aged 16 and over.
This online service supports young people who can manage their own therapy appointments and consent processes, while ensuring providers meet safety standards for working with this age group.
Therapy for those under 16 typically requires different clinical approaches and caregiver involvement, so NZTN recommends families seek specialized child and adolescent mental health services for younger clients. This age policy helps ensure safe, effective, and legally compliant care through telehealth.
